StarPay Market policy
Prohibited items
Every shop on StarPay Market is an independent Ghanaian business, and every order is delivered by StarPay's courier partners. So some things can't be sold here, even where they are legal to sell elsewhere. This list applies to every listing, photo and description on the Market.

Not allowed on the Market
- Weapons and explosives. Firearms, ammunition, parts that make or convert a weapon, knives sold as weapons, explosives and fireworks.
- Drugs. Illegal drugs, controlled substances, and anything sold to prepare or use them.
- Medicines. Prescription-only medicines, and any medicine, herbal remedy or supplement that is not registered with the Food and Drugs Authority, or that claims to cure a disease.
- Alcohol, tobacco and vaping products. Including e-cigarettes, refills and nicotine pouches.
- Counterfeit and infringing goods. Fakes and replicas of a brand, pirated media and software, and anything that uses someone else's trademark or copyright without permission.
- Stolen goods, and anything you don't have the right to sell.
- Hazardous materials the courier can't carry. Fuel, gas cylinders, flammable, corrosive or toxic chemicals, pesticides, and anything pressurised.
- Animals and protected wildlife. Live animals, and any part or product of a protected species.
- Food the courier can't keep safe. Food that must stay cold or frozen, or that spoils within two days. Packaged, shelf-stable food is welcome.
- Adult content and services, and anything sexual in its photos or description.
- Money, and things that work like money. Cash, foreign currency, gift cards, vouchers, airtime or data sold as credit, lottery tickets and betting, and cryptocurrency or stablecoin in any form.
- Identity and personal data. Government IDs and documents, SIM cards registered to someone else, bank or mobile money accounts, and lists of people's details.
- Recalled or unsafe products, including children's products that don't meet Ghana Standards Authority requirements.
- Hate and violence. Anything that promotes hatred of, or violence against, a group of people.
Sold elsewhere on StarPay, not on the Market
Services, event tickets and data bundles are not courier parcels, so they don't appear on the Market. You can still sell them from your own StarPay store, box office or payment links.
What happens if a listing breaks these rules
StarPay reviews every report, and checks shops when they ask to join. A listing that breaks this policy is taken off the Market, and a shop that keeps breaking it, or sells something dangerous, is removed from the Market. The shop is told why.
